THE TOP 10 SPORTS BEAUTIES

No. This is not what you think: there are 'no' actual 'beauties' on this list. Well, in terms of women, I mean. By beauties in this particular case, I refer to the coolest sports 'actions' in various sports. Still not getting it... *sigh*, Just read on, you'll figure it out.

10) ROBBING THE HOME RUN

Nothing feels better than going yard and putting your team up by a run or so. However, on the other side of the coin: the side featuring crap and sorrow, comes the homer thievery. Snatching a home run out of the air before it gleans past the wall is at once heart breaking and majestic. Too bad for one side, but outstanding for the other.

9) THE SOCCER FLIP KICK

Though I'm not a soccer fan, per se, I will freely admit that, for as damn long as those games tend to drag on, some cool stuff can, and, inevitably will occur. Especially, as in this case, the 'bicycle kick' that ends in a sweet-ass goal. So very cool indeed.

7) BOWLING A 300 GAME

I am so incredibly rotten at bowling. In fact, my ideal bowling game consists of buying a pitcher, chucking a few gutters, and buying another pitcher. I do know, however, that bowling a 300 is a perfect game featuring many strikes and no -believe it or not- gutter balls. Go figure.

6) BUZZER BEATERS

I enjoy a good basketball game as much as the next guy. I much prefer NCAA and the undeniable awesomeness that is March Madness over the NBA, but that's just me. Anyway, there was never any reason to believe that Michael Jordan was anything other than a player imbued with God-like powers, and so goes this particular set of videos. The buzzer beater is something to behold almost always resulting in the winning shot being delivered mere seconds before the timer announces the finale of the half, or, even better, the game. Enjoy.

5) THE SLAM DUNK

Oh, did I mention that Michael Jordan could, literally, fly? Yup. that's right: defying gravity, that was his claim to fame. So, in this set, I feature 10 of Mr. Jordan's finest dunks which, as we know, are some of the coolest ways to score in basketball. Michael Jordan . I just like saying his name.

4) THE HAIL MARY

Football. Ah, football... Sorry, I was miles away. Anyhow, Many cool things happen each and every game during an NFL game, or even a NCAA college game for that matter, and not the least of which is the outstanding and game-saving Hail Mary. Here we see Doug Flutie do perhaps the most amazing Hail Mary of all time.

3) THE ONE TIMER

I am not ashamed to admit that hockey is my favorite sport and the Detroit Red Wings are the greatest NHL team of all time, period. That being said, many other teams play very well, too, so I have to give them a little credit here. Some of the greatest slap shots ever are the wonderous one times. Don't aim, barely pay attention, and let fly from a quick pass withing a second to the net. The one timer is amazing to behold. So behold it. Right now.

**************************

2) THE NO-HITTER

Having previously stated that I am a die-hard Red Wings fan, it should come as no surprise that I also happen to thoroughly enjoy the Tigers. Last year I was quite privileged indeed to have witnessed Justin Verlander pitch an amazing game resulting in a no-hitter. Yeah, that's right: our most amazing ball slinger pitched a full game where no one from the opposing team got a hit. I nearly wet my shorts.

1) HOME RUNS

Fine, fine, pretty much any one worth his salt in a baseball uniform can hit a dinger... but who fuckin' cares? It's still so cool to see your slugger smack one out of the park no matter what. This here video is Josh Hamilton going nuts at the 2008 home run derby and breaking the previous record. He's a class act and a heroic story in and of himself, but for now, let's just dig on his BACK BACK BAAAAACKS, cool?
